My name is Robson Grant and I’m a Freelance Virtual Assistant & Life Enthusiast born in Scarborough, (Toronto), Ontario, Canada in 1962.

I drove a Leopard C1 Main Battle Tank and flew a Schweizer 2-33A Fixed Wing Glider while stationed at Canadian Forces Base Borden, Ontario, Canada in 1981. After 8 years in the regular forces, Air Force branch achieving the rank of Corporal, Trained L5 Instrument Electrical Technician, having an adventurous spirit, I decided to become a professional Truck Driver for 19 years. Performing local and long haul, I’ve driven coast to coast in North America for over two million miles including pulling two 53 foot trailers “Turnpike Doubles”, a total 41 metres (134.5 feet) in length (video) while living in western Canada. Then as an Ice Road Trucker across frozen lakes and rivers on the ice roads including the Mackenzie River to the North West Territories in northern Canada. I got my first truck driving licence (military) on a M35 “Deuce-and-a-half”. My CB Handle: “Road Chaser”.
In 2008 my life changed in an instant when I was driving home in my car after work and I stopped for a school bus and this lady in her SUV rear ended me doing 50 MPH!
The force of the impact was so great, like a crash test dummy (me), my body broke the driver’s seat and pushed me into the car ahead.
I was in rehab for 8 months and then discovered that I couldn’t do trucking anymore because I couldn’t handle the bouncing in the truck. Since I already had a technical background, I retrained myself as a freelance virtual assistant and I’ve been working online from home ever since.
My first experience with a computer was at my brother in-laws. It ran on DOS OS. As soon as Windows 3.1 came out, I bought my first computer (Compaq Presario 425 all-in-one 486 PC Computer) in August 1994 and I’ve been fascinated with technology and the world wide web ever since.
If ever there was a digital hoarder, I’m it! In fact, the last time I checked, I had 112,331 browser bookmarks!
As a Freelance Virtual Assistant and Life Enthusiast I love what I do and enjoy sharing my success with others. After almost 20 years out on the road as a professional trucker, the extra time and freedom of telecommuting from my home office is a dream come true.”
